My first 3D printer and I needed one with carbon fibre capability out of the box. Was recommended the K1C and it did not disappoint. Easy to use, clearly well built and recommended.
Creality 1KG PLA Filament For Ender/CR 3D Printers
I can finally develop ideas without thinking about who will then be able to realize them and if they will be economically sustainable. I draw what I need, I check if the idea is good or needs to be perfected and then I print everything I need already knowing how much it will cost me and the time it will take. If I have to redo some pieces I can do it independently. It is really unthinkable today not to have a 3D printer also given the ease with which you can draw very complex models with Thinkercad with a few clicks and above all at no cost. Then if you want you can use much more complex software if there is the need, the skills and the budget. However, even if Cho doesn't have the skills, he can develop an idea or download ready-made ones and print them in record time and at a low cost.
I booked my K1C 3D printer from Creality office Europe store, it was sent to my home very quickly. Until now, I have used it for a few weeks, I’ve had a pretty positive experience.
I would say the K1C has a solid build, and the design is sleek, which I really appreciate. The frame feels sturdy, and the assembly process wasn’t too complicated. However, there were a few moments where the instructions could have been a bit clearer, especially for someone who’s newer to 3D printing. The machine overall feels quite durable, but it does take up more space than I initially anticipated, so make sure you have enough room for it.
In terms of print quality, I’ve been impressed with most results, especially for everyday prints using standard filaments like PLA or PLA-CF. The prints come out smooth, and the details are crisp, but I have not tested yet other flexible materials (like PETG).
The print speed is decent, for regular-sized prints, it performs well, for example, I printer the Fischl standing module (24cm height) which was taken me about 6 hours. The K1C does a good job maintaining quality, but you might need to do some adjustments to find the right balance (e.g. adjust the support parameter).
The interface is pretty straightforward and easy to navigate. I especially like the touchscreen, which is responsive and simple to use. and, the auto-bed leveling feature is good, it adjusts well the bed automatically. Calibration out of the box was perfect, no need time fine-tuning it initially.
One downside I didn’t expect is the noise level. It’s a little bit big, special when all the fans are working, so I put my printer running in other room to avoid the constant hum. If you plan on using it in a quieter environment, that’s something to consider.
Comparing the price, the K1C is a solid performer, it offers decent print quality and performance, that could use improvement (as noise, only printer single color). If you’re looking for a reliable printer without breaking the bank, it’s a great option.
Overall, the Creality K1C is a good printer with a lot of potential, I am still testing. It’s a solid choice for hobbyists if you’re looking for something reliable at a reasonable price and don’t mind dealing with some small imperfections, it’s a worthwhile investment. I really like it.
